SENOR SMOKE.  Just over 1,000 tags were issued for muzzleloader hunters throughout ND this year, with half being antlerless whitetails and half being for antlered whitetails. Like other deer seasons in the state, it begins at noon.  For a lucky few, it could be the chance to capture the trifecta with a bow, gun and muzzleloader!

FREE ADVICE.  Share your thoughts with the NDG&F Dept. at one of the agency’s several advisory board meetings and get answers to your questions on outdoor activity in the Peace Garden State.  From habitat concerns, to fighting the push for posting all lands which is at the front of the legislative agenda this year, these opportunities are where your voice as a sportsman is heard.

WHISTLE STOP.  One of the most important – and smallest – safety tools to take into the field is a whistle.  It doesn’t run out of batteries, it’s typically loud and can be heard over the wind, and three sharp blasts every minute is the universal signal that you’re in trouble.  Clip one on to a vest zipper or tuck it in a pocket, just in case.

Stay Sharp!
