GROUPED UP. There are as many sportsman’s and conservation groups as there are interests in the outdoors. With the year wrapping up there are a number you can donate to or become a member of to ring in the new year with habitat work, conservation efforts, youth programs and other plans to get behind. We talk about three more great options to put your dollars and your boots behind in today’s Three Things.

THREE THINGS.
KICK IT. The Mule Deer Foundation, in existence for almost three decades, has striven to improve and protect mule deer and blacktailed deer habitat in the western U.S. Through a national- and chapter-based program, the foundation strives to make nationwide impacts to benefit these popular big game species.
ROCK IT. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, similarly, looks to help out the wily wapiti throughout not only their well-known range in the west, but also in those areas that are home to the isolated populations scattered throughout the U.S. – such as in western North Dakota – by improving habitat.
HOOK IT. Trout Unlimited is a cold-water advocate for salmonids from rainbow, brook and brown trout to char and salmon. Their work to improve streams, drainage programs, and get riparian access for anglers has spanned almost 60 years.
Stay Sharp!
