ABOUT NICK SIMONSON
Nick has been a freelance outdoors journalist for over 17 years, and his writings are published in over 50 periodicals and websites throughout the upper Midwest. His weekly column, Our Outdoors, has been syndicated for 20 years in a number of newspapers, websites and media throughout the upper Midwest. His diverse interests include upland hunting, bow hunting, trap shooting, fly tying, lure making and multi-species angling.
His work has been described as “highly engaging” by radio personality and NDG&F Dept. Outreach Biologist, Doug Leier, and he has “a writing talent second to none” according to USA Clay Target League founder Jim Sable.
Throughout his career, he has been a volunteer with a number of sportsmen’s and conservation organizations, working to get youth into the outdoors, improve public hunting access and bolster conservation of marginal lands to benefit wildlife and the surrounding human populations.
