DAY RATING:

THREE THINGS.
THE WEEK AHEAD. Outside of a small bump from a cool front on Wednesday, the coming week looks warm and relatively calm – another good one to get on the water. With limited chances for severe weather and low rainfall predicted, take advantage of the options available this time of year.
SNELL IT. With that warm weather, a number of people will be hard at it trolling for walleyes. One of the most important knots in walleye circles is the snell knot. This twisting, wrapping knot takes some practice, but helps hooks ride right on spinners, crawler harnesses and other trolling rigs. Review it a few times at animated knots and tie a bunch up!
COUNTDOWN BEGINS. Don’t forget to get second-chance applications in for the excess antlerless deer tags remaining for the 2018 fall firearms season. Additionally, pronghorn applications are open as well. Both lotteries close in 10 days on August 8, and can be applied for on the NDG&F’s website.
Stay Sharp!
