WHOOSH! Winds will rise today following some overnight rain, and at chance at some more this afternoon. It’s a good inside day and we’ve got projects planned for you in today’s Three Things to take advantage of outdoor opportunities and be set for the next season.

DAY RATING:

THREE THINGS
FINAL CLEAN. While the hustle and bustle of the holidays mean folks are busy, don’t forget those last few field opportunities remaining for upland game this time of year. Give your scattergun a once-over, a quick cleaning and a late-season look to make sure it’s ready for the last two weeks of the year.
PASS & STOW. While there are some limited openwater opportunities remaining, now’s the time to grease reels, clean rods and inspect line on your summer fishing rods before putting them away for the winter. Check eyelets for nicks and rods for cracks or damage and make a list to put with them for when they come out of storage. Give fly lines a good cleaning and drying as well.
MAKE A PLAN. For those big hunts next year, or just your general good health and continued strong hiking in the field, put together a workout plan for 2019 to get in shape and be able to keep up with the next generation of hunters. Whether it’s simply walking or a weight training regiment, planning for your New Year’s resolution helps set the stage for a good beginning to your efforts – you could even start on it EARLY!
Stay Sharp!
