A GREAT GIFT! Ma Nature’s present to you is a Christmas Holiday and extended weekend with perfect conditions for hunting and fishing. The Grinch comes on Wednesday behind a powerful system expected to bring a foot of snow to some parts of the region. We keep an eye on that and more in today’s Three Things.

THREE THINGS
HOLIDAY HOPE. Here’s a novel idea – edible six-pack rings. The ecological horror that is the plastic beer ring – commonly seen wrapped around the heads and necks of birds, turtles and other species – has been solved by a brewery founded by a fisherman (go figure!). These six-pack rings are made from barley and wheat ribbons that break down in water and can even be eaten by aquatic wildlife!
NO DUCKIN’ IT. While models remain a bit squirrelly, they all point to a white post-Christmas for North Dakota, especially the southern half. We’ll continue to watch the system churn its way on shore and see where it ends up for the back half of your week. Stash the shotguns and get the shovels ready.
LIVE FREE. Once you’ve dug out, remember that next weekend is North Dakota’s Free Ice Fishing Weekend. All residents are able to fish without a license, so stop on out at your favorite stretch of hardwater and rekindle the passion for on-ice action!
Stay Sharp!
