The Peluso Report: Working with the Wind on DL

My change of scenery up to Devils Lake hasn’t disappointed. However, I think if folks are fishing any of our major bodies of water like Devils Lake, Lake Sakakawea, the Missouri River, or Lake Oahe, they are going to find unreal fishing right now.

It seems for the walleye fishing on Devils Lake, we are firing on all cylinders right now. Hopefully it holds on throughout the entire season! We are definitely spoiled here in North Dakota!

Up here on Devils Lake it’s nothing fancy. Casting along wind-blown shorelines or utilizing bobber rigs with leeches will do the trick. The water is warming up, and the fish are getting active. Things should stay hot up here for a long time.

I still have a couple solid weeks up here before heading west to Sakakawea for a stretch of fishing there. I’m certainly going to try and continue to cast crankbaits on Devils Lake until the weeds come up too high to do so.

I’ll continue to bring you reports from Devils Lake and I will also bring you tidbits of information on Sakakawea as we go or until I get up there. I do have some August and September dates available for guiding on both lakes if you are looking for a trip yet.
