After our recent weather hiccups, everything seems to be getting back to normal for catfishing on the Red River in and around the Grand Forks area. The catfish are back in the middle of fast water, and they are feeding. The bite has been kind of a grind this past week as they are holding in smaller holes, so not every hole has a fish in it. Keep the timer rolling at 20-25 minutes and stay on the move. It has been more work with less fish overall, but more big fish are coming to the boat.
Two- or three-days dead sucker or frogs have been the clear bait winners this past week. It is a very seasonal bite right now with frogs being better in the morning and night while the sucker takes over in the late morning as the preferred bait.
September should be the month of big fish based on current conditions. Call or text 701-739-5808 for information or to book a trip to experience this awesome fishery!
