McKeehen Hired as N.D. PF Regional Rep.

Pheasants Forever Press Release

Pheasants Forever has appointed Renee McKeehen as the organization’s North Dakota Regional Representative. In her new role, McKeehen will work with 26 local chapters and more than 4,000 members throughout the state to expend funds for wildlife habitat and conservation education on behalf of Pheasants Forever with local, state, and federal partners.

“Renee is a recognized leader in engaging women into the outdoors and I can say with great confidence that she will be an incredible asset for our chapters and volunteers in North Dakota,” stated Tom Fuller, north regional director for Pheasants Forever. “North Dakota is an important state for this organization in terms of dedicated chapter volunteers and members, rooster harvest, and grassland acres – Renee has the drive and ambition to enact positive change on all these categories for the organization’s mission.”

Growing up in rural Minnesota, McKeehen was raised on a small family farm and immersed in the outdoor lifestyle – hunting, fishing, and adventuring – from her childhood years all the way through higher education. After earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Wildlife and Natural Resource Management from the University of Minnesota-Crookston, McKeehen pursued her passion for the outdoors by working for the Minnesota Conservation Corps as a conservation apprentice at Marshall County SWCD. In her most recent employment as a manager for Scheels in Bismarck, North Dakota, McKeehen strived to introduce others, especially women and children, to her passion for hunting and fishing.

“I am proud to be joining such a strong and driven organization working towards conservation,” said Renee McKeehen, regional representative for Pheasants Forever in North Dakota. “I look forward to contributing to the mission of Pheasants Forever alongside our dedicated members in the state.”

Coming to Pheasants Forever as a certified Firearms Safety Instructor in the state of North Dakota along with prescribed burning certifications, McKeehen is set to make a difference for shooting sports and wildlife habitat management in her region. Additionally, McKeehen was named “Adventuress of the Year” by Adventuress Magazine in December of 2016, detailing her passion and commitment to hunting, fishing, and natural resource management in the Peace Garden State.

McKeehen officially started as the North Dakota Regional Representative on July 3rd and will work out of her residence in Bismarck. For more information about Pheasants Forever in North Dakota, contact her at (701) 220-8796 or rmckeehen@pheasantsforever.org.
