WHAT’S THE BUZZ?  Strong storms are expected to roll through the area this morning and possibly tomorrow night as shooters gear up for the N.D. State Trap Tournament in Bismarck starting this afternoon at Capitol City Gun Club.  Learn more about the event and what’s happening around the region this week in today’s Three Things.

EDGE HOUR.  9:30 – 10:30PM.  Threats for thunder and rain will subside by evening and a sunset/moon underfoot combination will provide the best hour of the day for fishing after some disruption this morning.  The new moon is lining up for the weekend, and the bite should recover from recent turbulence in the weather pattern.

THREE THINGS.

WE’LL TAKE STATE!  The N.D. State Trap Shoot kicks off today with Youth Day, as hundreds of young shooters from around the state and region will come to compete in the first day of the five-day event.  Hosted by the Capital City Gun Club, the State Shoot had dozens of classes, events and competitions which bring out the very best shooters from around the upper Midwest.  Visit the CCGC website for more details.

SOUNDS FAIR.  In more statewide excitement, the N.D. State Fair kicks off on Friday, with booths, vendors and of course the NDG&F outdoor skills and conservation park area with shooting sports and archery stations for the kids, along with the opportunity to ask questions of G&F staff.  The event in Minot runs from Jul. 21 to Jul. 29.

ANTELOPE OPEN.  The 2017 Pronghorn Antelope season will be open to 410 lucky lottery applicants in five different units throughout N.D.  The lottery application process will open on Thu. Jul. 20 on the NDG&F licensing page.
