Daily Edge for Fri. Oct. 13

OH LUCKY DAY!  For a Friday the 13th, things are looking spookily good, as you’ll have options for all forms of hunting.  Light breezes pick up throughout the day giving your dogs a good chance to get on scent, but if you’re fishing the chop will be ideal for those hungry late season walleyes with the feedbag on!  We get random in today’s Three Things as we talk about all things outdoors.

CUE MONTE HALL.  Hunter surveys will be making their way to a select few of you this autumn to provide the NDG&F with information to help them better manage the various game species throughout the state.  Check out this week’s North Dakota Outdoors webcast for more information on the survey and the process.

IN THE BUFF.  For anyone driving the I-94 corridor, it’s tough to miss not only the worlds largest buffalo sculpture in Jamestown, N.D., but also the billboards for White Cloud, the white buffalo on display in the same area.  For more on both, visit Atlas Obscura, with all the great places in ND related to wildlife, and weird.

PARDON ME.  While wild turkeys won’t receive the President’s Pardon this November, the National Wild Turkey Federation does a lot to preserve the hunting tradition and habitat that benefits these big upland birds.  Learn more about NWTF and all the good they do for turkeys and other wildlife and getting youth involved in the outdoors.
