METEO-LOGIC. Welcome to the meteorological start of summer! We kick things off wet and rumbly as storms roll through the area, following some rough weather last night as well. With an inch of rain or more for our region, we should continue to see ground conditions green up and stave off the specter of last season’s drought, to the benefit of area wildlife. We talk about that and more in today’s Three Things.

INSTABILITY. It’ll be stormy to start the weekend as severe weather rolls across the region on strong southeast winds. Potential for strong thunderstorms lingers overnight before clearing out on Saturday, where we’ll struggle to touch 70. Back off your fishing plans until Sunday, when things settle down and conditions improve.
THINKING AHEAD. The turn of the calendar to June has die hard hunters already thinking about fall. With that, the NDG&F Dept. has made bow tags available, effective today to those eager sportsmen ready to nock an arrow come summer’s end with the start of the first deer season.
DID YOU KNOW? Did you know the Rapala VMC Corporation owns twelve major fishing brands, including former competitor Storm Lures, along with Strike Master and Marcum? Over the last decade or so, the Finnish-born franchise has been busy acquiring both mainstream U.S. lure makers as well as lesser known companies, such as Carp Sport, a European business focused on the favorite rough fish across the pond.
Happy Summer. Stay Sharp!
