THREE THINGS

GET MOVING. Now’s the time to do your fall boot shopping and get a few miles on whatever new pair you purchase.  Breaking boots in now with a hike in the hills, or even just a quick walk around the block a couple times a week will help get them paired up with your feet ahead of the season.

GET GROUSING.  For those looking to explore the world of ruffed grouse this fall, which requires a good number of boot miles, check out this guide to common mistakes (which ends up being a laundry list of awesome tips) from Gerald Almy and Bass Pro Shops.  From slowing down and stopping to exploring the areas where angels fear to tread, this one is worth saving in your bookmarks.

GET SHOOTING.  Hit the range and sight in a few rifles in the coming weeks.  Log a round of trap or sporting clays.  Pop a few arrows in your veteran foam buck.  Whatever it takes now to get you ready for September – get on it, you’ll be surprised how fast it arrives!

Practice up and Stay Sharp!
