BOAT TO BOW. Nah, we’re not doing yoga today, but we are talking transitions to fall. Get those last few fish over the gunwale and send those last few arrows into a favorite foam target as we prep for what’s to come in today’s Three Things.

BIG FISH. Beginning with this weekend’s full moon and the changing of the season, expect fish to start moving into their fall patterns. Big baits will be key in the coming weeks for pike, muskies and walleyes as the top specimens key in on the fullness of summer’s bounty.
MIXED BAG. We’re watching the forecast, and after a couple cold days things warm up slightly for the back half of the week. The bow opener on Friday looks relatively calm (light NW winds) and comfortable, with temps topping out just below 80 degrees.
GET SET. The cool and rain of the early portion of the week (tonight?) will give hunters one last chance to get out and check trail cameras without dropping too much scent. Remember to practice those scent-management tactics when grabbing memory cards to see what’s moving this week, to get in the habit for the season.
