WELCOME TO FALL! The season unofficially begins for avid outdoorsmen at noon today as we kick off the 2018 deer archery season. Winds will be shifty in the morning followed by strong gusts behind a light front. Play the breezes and dress lightly, as temps will touch 80 today – we talk about that and more in our Three Things.

NOCKED, READY TO ROCK! The 2018 deer season kicks off today at noon with the bow opener. Run a final check on the camo and gear you need in addition to your bow and arrows and we’ll see you on stand. If you’re concealed enough, hopefully the deer won’t!
SAFETY FIRST. A good majority of falls from deer stands can be prevented by using a safety lanyard and harness. Like a seatbelt or a life jacket, the system only works if you use it. So check that stand one more time before you climb up and make sure to buckle in when you’re atop it for a safe and successful deer season!
VARIETY! The long holiday weekend features not only a lot of great fishing and hunting opportunities, but the weather to do it all in. Winds will be shifty, but temps should generally be nice. Have a secondary stand for the opening weekend of bow hunting in mind and keep the rods ready for some fishing as well!
