Daily Edge for Thu. Mar. 7

FEVERISH. If you don’t have spring fever yet, you don’t have a pulse! We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but next week’s snow storm is looking to tell Saturday’s squall to hold its coffee cup and watch.  Early reads are coming in at 10 inches or more for the region next Wednesday.  We look right through spring and talk about summer and fall in today’s Three Things.

THREE THINGS:

LACE ‘EM UP.  While spring provides the best start to get fit for fall, it’s tough to get outdoors when there’s still snow and ice everywhere, but any physical activity now – be it treadmill, stationary bike or simple weight lifting exercises indoors will have you on the path to field fitness next autumn.  Focus on core and legs for stability and keep it easy to start, working up to tougher exercises later.

GEAR UP. It’s hard to believe, but the Spring ND Clay Target Season is just three weeks away!  Aside from getting the snowblower ready to clear houses and shooting lanes, participants should check that their firearms are in good working condition, and inspect glasses to be sure there are no scratches or other distractions.

WIND IT UP.  Get rods and reels set for spring with a new spool of fishing line.  Whether superline, mono or fluorocarbon, getting things ready to go now will have you all set for when openwater makes it here.  Watching the forecast and remembering last year’s “spring” – our guess is that the transition will happen quickly.

Stay Sharp!
