DAY RATING:
MOUNT UP! Young shooters can develop muscle memory and good form by practicing their shotgun mount at home, in their room or out in the garage. Take an unloaded firearm and bring it to the shooting position, hold and then lower it. Practice this motion 25 times a night heading into the season.
GET COMFY. Make sure eye and ear protection fit and are comfortable, being certain that muffs and lenses don’t interfere with a mount or get bumped around during the shot. Check lenses for scratches or nicks, and order new ones if needed.
90% MENTAL. Keep a positive mental attitude going into the season, by making the competition about your improvement looking to add a target every session. Stay healthy and hydrated and avoid chugging an energy drink or consuming too much caffeine prior to your rounds.
Stay Sharp.
