Daily Edge for Thu. Apr. 4

GUSTS GALORE!  Winds will be up today, blowing in warmer temperatures for the weekend, and a shot at some rain.  It’ll be hit and miss, but for many the conditions won’t dictate outdoors opportunity – only open water, as rivers and streams bust loose. We run the gamut in today’s Three Things.

NO CWD.  Good news from the NDG&F on the northwestern front as more than 50 deer sampled test negative for CWD. Following confirmation of the disease in northwestern ND this fall and winter, these negative tests show the disease is limited.

YOU’RE LYIN’.  The case of a poached mountain lion, four men and the lies told to a grand jury all wound up costing the unethical hunters $65,000 plus equipment forfeitures, including a truck.  The US FWS details the case that crossed state lines and triggered federal statutes, sending a harsh message to any other would be “corner cutters.”

ID PLEASE.  As you’re gearing up for spring, or maybe looking to get a young person geared up – consider sharing the Fishes of ND publication by the NDG&F. From perch to pike and species big and small, the full-color PDF will help introduce them to familiar fish in our area.

Stay Sharp!
