CAT ATTACK.  The Drayton Rod & Reel Rally is set for next weekend, Aug 10-11, showcasing the incredible catfishing action on the Red River.  The tourney is a two-day affair covering 30 river miles for big channel cats. Learn more at catfishdrayton.com.

BREAK-IN.  Don’t forget to put new boots and gear through its paces now – especially if you’re on track for a destination trip in the coming months. Working out new leather is key in preventing opening-day blisters and soreness and getting feet acclimated to new environs. Find a hiking trail near you and hit it hard!
