OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
BIG WEEKEND. Youth deer, youth waterfowl and the general grouse and partridge opener all fall on this upcoming weekend, with the youth deer season starting at noon on Friday. Check out all this autumn’s approaching openers at the NDG&F Department’s season dates page, and plan your hunts accordingly.
HUGE MOON. The September full moon is the Harvest Moon, so named for the time of year when crops came in and a time of plenty was celebrated. Friday the 13th is extra eerie this year as the full moon rises at 11:33pm and will be bright in the evening sky.
MONSTER MULEYS. Realtree.com has the record mule deer and blacktail deer of both varieties – typical and non-typical – along with photos to stare at over your morning coffee. The record non-typical has stood for an amazing 94 years, but when you see its antlers, you’ll know why!
