CUE CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE! Happy Friday the 13th everyone! May the improving weather bring you good luck tonight on stand and this weekend, wherever your adventures take you – youth waterfowl, grouse and partridge, or on the water – in North Dakota. We’ve got the latest on free money for shooting ranges, spreading deer disease to the east and a big blue whale in Oklahoma in our Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
RANGE RELATED. The NDG&F’s youth shooting sports and gun range grant process is open until Oct. 1. The two categories are designed to assist the growing demand for youth-related clay target programs across the state, and to improve and update shooting ranges of all kinds.
EHD IN MN. The Minnesota DNR reports its first confirmed cases of EHDv, a hemorrhagic disease carried by biting midges. Two deer tested positive and two more nearby were also found dead near the same water source, but not tested due to sample quality.
BIG FISH…ER MAMMAL. The Blue Whale of Catoosa is an oddity for this Friday the 13th shared by Atlas Obscura. Landlocked in the middle of Oklahoma, the structure (built as an anniversary gift), serves as a slide and diving platform for local kids in the small pond and ended up being a Route 66 tourist stop in the process.
