Daily Edge for Thu. 10/10 – Here We Go

BULLSEYE.  The worst of the snowfall will cover eastern ND, with more than a foot possible in many places between Bismarck and Fargo by the time things wrap up in the first wave on Friday.  Wrap-around snow and high winds will continue to make things tricky for Saturday’s Pheasant Opener, so we cover that and more in our Outdoors Roundup.

COLOR CODED.  Pay attention to weather conditions as they will quickly deteriorate Thursday into Friday, and Saturday and Sunday have a chance for continued issues for those venturing out for pheasant opener.  Utilize NOAA resources like the interactive Conditions and Hazard Map and stay tuned to local radio for more info.

LAYER UP.  While hunting after all of this will be possible (Wednesday, maybe?), remember the importance of layers – especially base layers such as thermal underwear.  You can always take off what you don’t need, but you can’t put on what you didn’t bring.

TAKE A NUMBER.  The NDG&F Dept. reminds hunters that certain items of equipment such as stands and blinds on public lands must have an identification number tied to the hunter’s online account with the agency.  A number can be generated at the agency’s buy and apply page.
