OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
DO YOU HAVE YOUR TAG? While it seems unlikely, tags get lost, misplaced and thrown out with junk mail. Make sure to locate your tag before heading out and have it in your possession to validate your hunt, or contact a warden for a replacement, ASAP.
HERD MENTALITY. About half of the state is under CWD surveillance procedures this year, including the eastern third as part of a rotating annual program and those units (and adjacent ones) were the disease has been detected. Hunters can learn more at the NDG&F Department’s CWD landing page.
NEAR PERFECT? Play the light westerly winds today and enjoy temperate conditions as highs in the low 40s will make even exposed sits comfortable for the start of the season. Saturday continues the trend (though a chance for an icy mix) before conditions really deteriorate overnight and temperatures slide into Sunday on cold northwest gales.
