Daily Edge for Wed. 11/13 – Onward!

Following the cold snap, conditions will align on the backside of the full moon to make hunting magical again this weekend.  We cover that, some tips for working with CWD and taking good samples, along with a unique deer herd in today’s Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

STEP-BY-STEP.  For those hunting in CWD areas, a good series of videos on quartering out, caping and removing portions of issue with the disease (brain, spine, lymph nodes) is offered up by the Minnesota DNR.  Plus, it’s great overall knowledge on how to get the field dressing and quartering done.

GENERALLY FAVORABLE.  Things are looking good through the weekend and into the start of next week for continued deer hunting efforts, as temperatures stabilize in the 30s to low 40s with generally lower wind speeds (excluding Saturday night).  Get out there and enjoy the November chase!

WINTER CAMO.  Check out the Seneca White Deer herd, a unique group of deer found on an abandoned army depot in New York.  While stories of their origin are as sordid as that of Swamp Thing, none of them are true.  At their outset, during special on-base hunting season, taking of any white deer was restricted, helping their unique genealogy spread in the area!
