We’ve got a look at the weekend and what’s brewing to the east of us and whether or not it’ll impact your hunting and fishing along with free fishing and a start for lure crafting in our Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
FREE FISHING. Don’t forget to take a friend fishing this Saturday and Sunday as the NDG&F Department’s free fishing weekend is scheduled for Dec. 28 and 29. Resident anglers can fish without a license and try spearing with a quick registration online at gf.nd.gov.
EYES EAST. A solid wallop of winter is lining up for eastern North Dakota late Saturday into Monday. We’ll keep an eye for any wobble which may extend the affected area to more of the Peace Garden State and interfere with your fishing and hunting efforts this weekend.
MAKE IT. The new year provides a good opportunity to get into fly tying and lure crafting. Find a starter kit and get down to making your favorite flies, jigs, spinners and other baits this time of year and be ready to test them out this spring when the water opens.
