Daily Edge for Sat. 1/11 – Keep It Comfy

MODERATING?  The weekend won’t be as cold as previously predicted, but our harsh stretch still looks to be setting up for next week.  We’ve got news from cold to hot in today’s Outdoors Roundup and check out some awesome photos taken around the state.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

PRIME PHOTOS.  Winners and top finishers in the watchable wildlife photo contest have been released by the NDG&F Dept. With some incredible shots and certainly some surprising close-ups (see prairie rattlesnake), you’ll be wowed by all of the creatures great and small captured by this year’s entrants!

COLD FEET.  The Ruffed Grouse Society has some great information on keeping dogs’ feet healthy and in good shape this time of year and pointers for general foot care throughout the hunting seasons.  Learn more on how to keep your four-legged friend upright with their latest blog post.

ON FIRE.  The US Fish & Wildlife Service details the work its fire crews do to manage and protect the country’s vast refuge system with fire and against it.  Additionally, the agency details its cooperation with Australia in light of the current wildfires burning down under.
