JANUARY JABS. Oofda! January’s hallmark cold is taking hold over the region as we look ahead to a bitter week and what appears to be a chilly back half of the month on the horizon. Luckily we have hunting memories to review and lure-making projects to put up during this time as part of our Outdoors Roundup.

REMEMBER WHEN? It seems like the hunting seasons ended forever (really, a week) ago – maybe it’s just the onset of January playing tricks on us. OUCH. The long range look ahead is suggesting a struggle through the rest of the month in terms of temperature as daily highs will typically be below zero through Jan. 24. Thankfully little snow will come with the bone-chilling cold (Total Precip column).
