OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

Having a small toolbox with the blades, cutters and gear you need for the ice is essential for a safe and enjoyable trip in case something goes akilter.  Stash it all in a waterproof box and store it with your tackle. Here’s what we’ve got on our checklist:

(_) Knife – for cutting
(_) Scissors – option #2 for cutting
(_) Pliers with Cutter – for on-ice emergency projects
(_) Line Nipper – makes clean work of line and cables
(_) Mini flashlight – when all else fails, have a backup light
(_) Electrician’s/Duct Tape – for patching and for connections
(_) Replacement Connectors for Sonar – just in case
(_) Paracord – for securing tarps and tie-downs and a million other things.
