OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
A GOOD RUN. You have to get two weeks out on the model runs to see anything cold or spooky in the long-range forecast as average temps with a few spikes into the 30s settle in for the week. A slight chance of an inch or two next Sunday is the only real precip on the horizon for your outdoor adventures.
STAY ON IT. By now, most New Year’s Resolutions have fallen by the wayside, but February is a short month and an easy one to complete your fitness goals in, even with this year’s extra day. Stay in shape by walking your dogs, hitting the treadmill for a run, or find other fitness outlets to keep fit for next fall’s hunting seasons. Changes now build up over the next eight months!
DRESSED UP. From rubber strands to knotted pheasant tail fibers, the addition of legs to any hopper pattern, woolly bugger, stonefly, foam popper or even stimulator add a little something extra that from time-to-time is that thing that makes a pattern irresistible. Experiment with a variety of colors and leggy additions to your favorite flies and see what happens next summer!
