OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
GET GIVING. Pheasants Forever announces “Give to the Uplands Day” set for Tue. May 5. In reaction to the decreased funding many conservation groups are seeing, the Habitat Organization has created a one-day drive to increase membership, donations and connections that were lost as Covid-19 cancelled hundreds of banquets this spring.
REOPENINGS. A number of facilities catering to sportsmen are re-opening throughout the state, including one of its biggest Archery Ranges, Nishu Bowmen in Bismarck. Check with your local gun club, archery range and other public recreation facilities to get your shooting fix in!
CHAMP! A 13-year-old from South Dakota has won the Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Madison Grimm’s wood duck is an amazing, life-like acrylic painting that wowed the judges. Visit the US FWS page for more on the Junior Duck Stamp contest and the talented young outdoors artists.
