OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
SMALL SNAG. This year’s snag-and-harvest stretch of the paddlefish season was canceled, but as ND continues to flatten the curve, the NDG&F has opened the one-week snag-and-release paddlefish season from May 15-21. This provides an opportunity to those who the thrill of a spring paddlefish on the line, and for social distancing with less anglers involved.
LIGHTS OUT. The US Fish & Wildlife Service details the impact of turning out bright city lights to help migrating bird species that travel after sunset. In addition to making things less confusing for the birds, the darker skyline helps stargazers see the night sky.
AW CRAP. If you’re looking for a fun Facebook group, considering joining Crap Wildlife Photography for all of those near-misses and frames that just don’t make the cut or have a silly story behind them. It’s a lot of fun and in good humor for us average outdoor shutterbugs.
