HUGE WIN ON THE HILL. Conservation groups scored a huge victory for public lands, waters, wildlife and fish and the future of hunting and fishing as the Great American Outdoors Act – which secures hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue from offshore drilling for the people’s access to these places – passed the House 310-107. The bill now goes to the President’s desk for signature into law, reports Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.
BATTLE BUCK SHAMING. QDMA has an interesting piece on ways to eliminate buck shaming, and including every harvest as one that is memorable, good and inclusive of a hunter. Stressing the modern digital landscape which gives rise to some of these scenarios, the organization taps old-school ideas for combating the negatives in human nature and celebrating the hunt.
SHOOTING STARS. Across the state, many fun shooting events are setting up for the weekend including the Scheels Archery Shoot in Minot and the ND State Trap Shoot at Capital City Gun Club in Bismarck. Top archers and shotgunners from around the region will test their skills in two major events all in one weekend.
