COOL DOWN.  Uncharacteristically for August, temperatures dip for the weekend as northern breezes take things under 80 for the first time in quite a while.  We’ve got insight into North Dakota’s pronghorn populations, a shift in drought conditions in the state and tips for topwater fishing bass in today’s Outdoors Roundup.

LONG ON PRONG.  The NDG&F Dept. previews the 2020 Pronghorn Season, highlighting mild conditions in the winter which helped increase survival of the species in western ND.  Check out the weekly webcast from the agency to learn more about surveys, tags and the lottery process and timelines.

 

SC DROUGHT EXPANDS.  The dry conditions in the southcentral stretch of North Dakota along the eastern edge of the Missouri River expanded northward last week.  Meanwhile, timely rains on the west side of the flow have kept things greener after dry conditions abated in early July.
