With it goes what may be the last real dose of winter, as long-range forecasts show a spring-like shift! We get you geared up for the season – for real this time – in today’s Three Things.

DAY RATING:
THREE THINGS:
SHAKE THE RUST. Check over tackle boxes for rusty hooks and jigs and remove them from the container. Inspect the container for residue and either clean it out or get a new one to continue to preserve the quality of your tackle.
TOOL STASH. Have your in-boat or tackle box stash of tools – pliers, forceps, nippers and the like – ready to roll for spring. Check to make sure knives are sharp and a roll of utility tape (duct, electrician or both) is stashed in the boat just in case.
EYE EXAM. Focus on the eyes on your favorite fishing rods and check for nicks or cracks which will easily cut line and cause lost fish. Replace broken tips and extend the lives of older rods with new eyes.
Stay Sharp!
