OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:
WASH & DRY. After a summer of hitting the streams and lakes, fly lines can take a beating and even take on a new color with some of the algae stains we saw. Use a down day like this one to wash them, dry them and get them ready for next season (or next week), with some tips from Global Fly Fisher.
AMMO ASSORTMENT. Sort out shells, cartridges and other ammunition by type and use and secure it in designated containers or ammo cans. Keeping your rounds ready for the upcoming hunts is part of having everything ready to go. Down days are the perfect time to organize.
SPRING CHECKLIST. Go through your tacklebox and make a list of those items that worked well and maybe ran out toward the end of the summer season. Use this checklist in spring to stock up on those lures, or check throughout winter for specials on favorite lures and baits.
