MILD MONDAY.  Things warm up as best they can under a blanket of snow as temps fight their way up into the thirties.  We cover hunting and fishing developments from around the region as part of today’s Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

CUT DOWN.  Standing crops still remain an issue for both farmers and hunters headed into the late season, with just 30 percent of the state’s corn harvest completed as of last week.  With significant snowfall already on the ground, things are looking iffy for remaining efforts this fall.

MILD THRU MIDDLE.  Things will stabilize after the storm as temperatures moderate into the middle thirties until we experience a slide on Thursday.  Slight snow amounts reappear on the back end of the seven-day forecast, so stay tuned.

CLEAN UP.  The Minnesota DNR is offering up special late-season hunts in an effort to control the spread of CWD in noted areas of the state.  Resident and non-resident hunters will have opportunities later in the month to hunt deer with disease management tags in areas where the disease has been found.
