Daily Edge for Mon 5.18 – Soaring

WOOSH!  We’re off and running with a warmer and windy start to the week! In addition to a look at the strong, sustained gusts we’ve got a reminder that new hunters can still get in on the deer lottery drawing with the NDG&F online hunter ed course and some great work by PF for prairie birds – all as part of our Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

A REMINDER.  The NDG&F Department reminds new hunters that they can still get their hunter education completed and get a temporary number in time to get into the 2020 firearms deer lottery.  Hunters then have until the end of the year to complete an in-person exam portion of the course.

BONUS BIRD.  Pheasants Forever details the spillover success of the organization’s habitat work in helping to sustain prairie grouse, like the sharptail.  A recent blog post covers the restoration and preservation of grasslands in the Dakotas to help all upland species.

GUSTY STRETCH.  We’ll see strong winds through mid-week as warmer conditions come on gusty south breezes.  Plan your trips accordingly and watch those north shores later in the week to see what’s stacked up and expect water temperatures to rise quickly with temps nearing 80.
