Daily Edge for Tue 5/19 – Deja Vu

GROWING GUSTS.  The wind continues with sustained gusts through tomorrow, but calmer days are ahead; in the meantime enjoy the warm temperatures that come with it.  We’ve got some deer updates from the NDG&F and QDMA along with a look at a modified season underway for the ND CTL as part of our Outdoors Roundup.

GET YOUR TICKET!  The NDG&F previews the factors and numbers pertaining to this year’s firearms deer lottery in the department’s weekly web short.  Wildlife Division Chief Jeb Williams provides insight into this year’s uptick in available licenses in this week’s North Dakota Outdoors web short.

DISTANT SPRING.  The North Dakota State High School Clay Target League’s spring season is underway at many of the state’s schools with social distancing measures in place to help curb the coronavirus pandemic.  A non-contact sport that gets hundreds of kids shooting each spring and fall, the ND CTL is one of the few activities able to reopen to students, without much person-to-person contact.

FIRST HUNTS.  QDMA celebrates their member-led first hunts, showcasing the great success and the inclusion of preparation, hunting and processing lessons shared with new sportsmen and women from around the nation.
