MILLE LACS NIXED.  The Minnesota DNR has closed walleye fishing on lake Mille Lacs for the month of July to maintain fishing opportunities for later in the year.  The significant harvest of walleyes from the lake requires careful management by the agency and its tribal partners.

FLOW OF MONEY.  SD Game Fish and Parks has announced a series of grants stemming from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to help improve access and recreation in the Rushmore State. LWCF has been in the news lately as congress moves to pass legislation to fully fund it through offshore oil taxes.

LEWIS & CLARK CAVERNS.  The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is celebrating the reopening of Lewis & Clark Caverns to the public with a series of classes and courses for people to attend.  The first two involve bear awareness and cave exploration.
